THC Drinks in Illinois: Last Orders November 11, 2026
Orders accepted through November 11, 2026
Illinois adults 21 and older can order San Buzi's 10mg Delta-9 THC lemonade, shipped from Atlanta, through November 11, 2026. That is our last day for Illinois orders: the Illinois Hemp Act takes effect November 12, 2026, and from that day checkout no longer accepts Illinois shipping addresses.
The cutoff is midnight Eastern at the end of November 11, which is 11 p.m. that night in Chicago and everywhere else in Illinois. Until then, Illinois law already treats these drinks as adults-only, and that rule covers shipped orders, not just store counters.
Illinois THC drink law, in two stages
Illinois handles these drinks in two stages under SB 3222, which Gov. Pritzker signed on June 12, 2026 as Public Act 104-463. Before November 12, 2026, its amendments to the Industrial Hemp Act bar anyone from selling, giving or delivering a hemp product with more than 0.4mg THC per container to a person under 21 -- shipped orders included -- and require retailers to check a photo ID for any buyer who appears under 30, though how that applies to online sales is unclear. They also set label content rules, which the Attorney General enforces under the Consumer Fraud Act.
From November 12, 2026, the new Illinois Hemp Act applies and the Industrial Hemp Act is repealed (SB 3222, Secs. 999 and 180). A final product with more than 0.4mg total THC per container is no longer hemp, and Sec. 10(a) bars any person from selling or distributing it in Illinois except as the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act (CRTA) or the state's medical cannabis law allows. The Illinois Department of Agriculture says products that do not meet the hemp definition are considered cannabis and may be subject to penalties for unlicensed sale. Illinois did not follow the federal delay to December 11, 2026; as of October 12, 2026, its November 12 date stands.
Illinois dispensaries may not obtain products from outside the state or deliver to homes (CRTA 15-70(p)(3) and (p)(9)), so from November 12, 2026 an out-of-state brand has no lawful route to Illinois buyers. The statute does not name remote sellers; applying it to a sale shipped to an Illinois address is a strong inference rather than express text.
What applies when you order from Illinois
- Order by November 11, 2026. Checkout stops accepting Illinois shipping addresses at midnight Eastern (11 p.m. Central) that night.
- 21 and older only. Illinois bars selling, giving or delivering a hemp product with more than 0.4mg THC per container to anyone under 21, and that includes shipped orders.
- Photo ID: Illinois requires retailers to check a photo ID for any buyer who appears under 30. How that rule applies to online orders is unclear.
- Every San Buzi can has 10mg Delta-9 THC, well above Illinois's 0.4mg-per-container line, so the 21+ rule applies to every can you order.

What’s in every can
Each 12 oz can of San Buzi has 10mg hemp-derived Delta-9 THC and 5mg CBG, with zero alcohol and zero calories, in Strawberry Lemonade or Blueberry Lemonade. What’s changing in December 2026
As of October 12, 2026, most of a new federal hemp definition, including a cap of 0.4mg total THC per container, is scheduled to take effect December 11, 2026, after Congress pushed it back from November 12. It applies in every state. See our explainer on the change.
Illinois THC drinks: common questions
What time does Illinois checkout close?
Checkout stops accepting Illinois shipping addresses at midnight Eastern at the end of November 11, 2026, which is 11 p.m. Central in Illinois. From November 12, 2026, the day the Illinois Hemp Act takes effect, San Buzi does not ship to Illinois.
Why does San Buzi stop shipping to Illinois on November 12, 2026?
That is the day the Illinois Hemp Act takes effect. Under it, a final product with more than 0.4mg total THC per container is not hemp and may be sold in Illinois only as the state's cannabis laws allow, and Illinois dispensaries may not obtain products from outside the state or deliver to homes -- which, on the strong reading of the statute, leaves an out-of-state brand no lawful route in.
Do you have to be 21 to buy THC drinks in Illinois?
Before November 12, 2026, yes: SB 3222's amendments to the Industrial Hemp Act bar selling, giving or delivering a hemp product with more than 0.4mg THC per container to anyone under 21, shipped orders included. From November 12, 2026, products over that line may be sold in Illinois only as the state's cannabis law allows, so that law, rather than the hemp rules, decides who may buy them.
Did Illinois move its date to December 11 to match the federal delay?
No. Illinois's November 12, 2026 date is written into state law (SB 3222, Sec. 999) and stayed put when the federal hemp redefinition was pushed back to December 11, 2026. Gov. Pritzker told Block Club Chicago in August 2026 that he planned to keep the November date.
Can you buy THC drinks at an Illinois dispensary after November 12, 2026?
From that date, products over 0.4mg total THC per container may be sold in Illinois only as the state's cannabis laws allow, and Block Club Chicago reported that THC drinks will be sold only in licensed dispensaries. San Buzi cannot be among them, because Illinois dispensaries may not obtain products from outside the state (CRTA 15-70(p)(3)).
